Mixed Emotions Hit Dabawenya?
Again, another misfortune came to me yesterday night. I lost the bracelet I bought with mom. And today, I left home feeling naked. I left my cellphones at home. Cellphones had been a part of my everyday thingies. And it really feels different without them. And because I left my phones today, a question just came out. Sounds like what would happen if I don't bring my phone everyday? Hmmm... that couldn't be. I might miss some important messages or calls from important people. But what if? Hahahaha... Here comes my questioning mind again....
They say, when you're happy now, loneliness comes after it. What now? Hmmm... You see, I'm very much excited to have my dSLR this Sunday. So what is this? Misfortune visited me first then I'd be happy in Sunday... That's it? Oh ok. I get it. :)
So, why can't people talk straight to their point? And why can't I say something? Am I afraid things might get worst? Yeah, maybe. I really hate complications that is why sometimes, I sacrifice my rights so as not to make things worst. But I was just wondering what's gonna happen next? What's gonna happen next? Oh... here's this question again... Wooooooooohhhh!
I'd be having my very first day to be at field tomorrow - to get acquainted with our standards... I hope misfortune would leave me tonight.
I'm sorry if I'm talking like this today. I'm just looking for an outlet... dugh! I'd be okay. I easily forget things anyways.
I think I better go home now. I've finished my coffee, got only few maruya supreme left and can't work on the things that I have to work on right now because the mail that I sent this afternoon did not reach the destination. So, I guess I have to go now.
Dabawenya signing off...

Working with Your Team
-------------------------------------------------------------
Working on teams can be rewarding, but at times it can be difficult and downright frustrating. If there are poor communicators on your team, you may often feel left in the dark, confused or misunderstood. To create a successful team, effective communication methods are necessary for both team members and leaders. Even though some people understand their communication skills need improving, many aren't certain how to improve them. So, in the following article, we've outlined how to avoid some common team blunders as well as some helpful advice on how to be a better teammate or leader overall. Go… team!
If You're a Team Member
Communicate, Communicate, Communicate.
If you have a problem with someone in your group, talk to him about it. Letting bad feelings brew will only make you sour and want to isolate yourself from the group. Not only does it feel good to get it out, but it will be better for the team in the long run.
Don't Blame Others
People in your group lose respect for you if you're constantly blaming others for not meeting deadlines. You're not fooling anyone, people know who isn't pulling his weight in a group. Pointing the finger will only make you look cowardly. Group members understand if you have a heavy workload and weren't able to meet a deadline. Saying something like, "I'm really sorry, but I'll get it to you by the end of today." will earn you a lot more respect than trying to make it seem like it's everyone else's fault that you missed your deadline.
Support Group Member's Ideas
If a teammate suggests something, always consider it – even if it's the silliest idea you've ever heard! Considering the group's ideas shows you're interested in other people's ideas, not just your own. And this makes you a good team member. After all, nobody likes a know-it-all.
No Bragging
It's one thing to rejoice in your successes with the group, but don't act like a superstar. Doing this will make others regret your personal successes and may create tension within the group. You don't have to brag to let people know you've done a good job, people will already know. Have faith that people will recognize when good work is being done and that they'll let you know how well you're doing. Your response? Something like "Thanks, that means a lot." is enough.
Listen Actively
Look at the person who's speaking to you, nod, ask probing questions and acknowledge what's said by paraphrasing points that have been made. If you're unclear about something that's been said, ask for more information to clear up any confusion before moving on. Effective communication is a vital part of any team, so the value of good listening skills shouldn't be underestimated.
Get Involved
Share suggestions, ideas, solutions and proposals with your team members. Take the time to help your fellow teammates, no matter the request. You can guarantee there will be a time in the future when you'll need some help or advice. And if you've helped them in past, they'll be more than happy to lend a helping hand.
Vacation or dSLR?
I will be having a 9-days vacation leave next month. In the past days, I have thought about spending few days of my vacation leave in some beaches of Cebu & Bohol. In the other hand, my interest & passion for photography gave me the idea of buying a dSLR. Here comes confusion. I had been thinking about it yesterday and until now. I only have few days left to decide.
What I was thinking is that, if I just stay here during the 9-days leave, I could always find something online. Perhaps an opportunity to write reviews about something, or find a data entry task. I could also do that while on vacation, that is if my destination is a wi-fi hotspot. I could always bring my eepc with me. The thing is, if I go on vacation, I have to forget about having a dSLR. But if I get myself a dSLR, I could go on with my next year's planned vacation with the dSLR.
My decision's closer to having that dSLR. And I'm looking to where I could possible get one. I know one day, I would be confused again. Man! Hmmm... Just gimme a little time.... LOL! Confused really....

35/365 : O, Picobello!
On the other hand, Jen, was still at her workstation. She messaged me and had a conference with Elle, who's in Cotabato. Until I felt my stomach complaining. Jen and I decided to have dinner together somewhere. We cannot think of a place. We ended up at Picobello, one of Davao's famous Italian restaurants! Slurrrp! I had a wonderful dinner! Pizza & Lasagna for dinner! Slurrrp... Wanna have some? Hehehehehe...
34/365 : I'm an Addict

I'm just using a Kodak DX3500. I'm still trying to make good shots - compositions. To repeat, I'm an addict... a flickr addict....

Good Day to All!
computer. I've predicted today's not a very busy day for me. Whoah! :) But I might be going home late because I will be spending time with my baby ;).
Sorry guys if you haven't heard from me since Monday. I am just busy accommodating a friend from Visayas. Monday, I met her with another friend. We had a yummy dinner at one of Davao's best Chinese restaurants and we end the night at one of Davao's pioneering coffee shop, Blugre.
Last night, Jen & I let her exeperience the perfect ambiance of Davao's famous, Jack's Ridge. We had dinner. We let her taste Davao's favorite halo-halo at Aling Fopings located at Matina Town Square. We were stuck for a while because the blessings(rain) started to pour. Instead, we surfed the net with Kanto Bar's wide radius wi-fi connection. Few minutes after the rain stopped, we called it a night.
So friends, if you visit Davao, and if you want to see its beauty, you may just contact me and I'll show you wonderful places Davao could offer. ;)

25/365 : Special Gift
I was organizing my pictures in my computer and these caught my attention. This was my first personalized mug design. I designed it as a very special Christmas gift to my friends. Mugs cost less but what made it special is that I designed it myself, for them. Everything I designed is special to me. The efforts I gave made my gifts special.
24/365 : Bossa Nova Collections
I arrived home yesterday and wanted to relax. So, I took one of my Bossa Nova collection and played it. Wow, sooo relaxing.
When People Talk Behind Your Back, Don't Mind Them
And you know why it caught my attention? Because it's really something that says a lot about boosting up your self-confidence. It's not about bragging but it's about getting out of the shell.
I admit I'm someone who's a low self-esteem especially when somebody talks behind my back. Just a few months ago, I have learned that someone's been talking behind my back and what pains me most is that, the person's a friend. It really tore me apart and things were coming out from my mind. It was really disheartening.
I am still in the process of regaining my strength and re-boosting the confidence I have once lost. And I do hope I would no longer mind those people who'd be happy talking behind someone's back.
How about you? How would you feel if you trust someone not knowing what you've shared will be used against you? Would it be better to live with an CIA's trust no one?

G.U.E.S.T.
I was at an express store this afternoon and I've heard this cashier at her mid 30's asking her superior if it's really important to greet the customer. I think somebody complained about the greeting thing. What came to mind was the importance of greeting a customer. I answered her question in silence. What the heck! What a question! It's self explanatory.
For me, greeting customers and smiling at them really helps. It really works especially in times when they're in anger or in grief. We don't really know what happened to them prior to having transaction with us. At least a smile & a greeting could make them feel at ease.
Another thing, if you're working in an environment where you deal with customers, please treat your customers nicely. I too, have been a victim of service reps who doesn't have the attitude, mostly at government agencies. Really, it pissed me off. They forgot we're paying taxes.
If you're dealing with customers, always remember Greet.Use name.Eye-to-eye contact.Smile.Thank you. It really helps to change moods.
Much Better Than Yesterday
Well, I have slept earlier than 12:00AM. Better than the other night, right? So, I guess today would be better than yesterday. I'm almost done with my to do list. Got 3 on the go which can't be done in just a day, all budget related. Am having 2 trainees today just to let them understand the whole budget thing. Yeah, it's very much complicated because it's a budget until 2014. I hope I could let them try sometime. I need it done by Monday. I'd be off from work by Saturday but I will be working at home. Yes, that's passion. Hehehehe... 2 to dos due on Monday, and the other one's due before my 9-days leave in August. Wow, 9-days leave! Yeah, it's a problem really. how I wish I could just easily add it to my next year's 15-days vacation or even convert it to cash. What am I gonna do with that 9-days vacation anyway? Any suggestions? Hahahaha... I still don't have the spirit to visit places farther than the island of Visayas alone. Well, I hope I'd be convinced. I love to travel alone, anyways.
Hey, got to end this now. It's almost 8:00AM. Have to prepare myself for work. Cheers!

Eat Very Less or Even Don't Eat for Dinner
Why should we eat very less or even don't eat for dinner?
There are the following reasons:
1. Our metabolism starts to speed up from 4am in the morning, getting to the highest point at 4pm in the afternoon. So we should eat breakfast and lunch. But our metoblism begins to slow down from 4pm until 4am next morning. So most foods we eat at dinner are changed into fat in our body.
2. When food is taken into our body, the blood will concentrate on the digestive system while other organs such as heart, brain, lung, kidney and muscles will be in the status of blood shortage. That's the reason why there always heart attacks happened during sleeping at night after the patients eat much food at dinner.
3. Our body tells us that we should engage in activities in day times while rest at night. All the organs should rest including stomach and intestines at night.
4. When we are hungry, our body will be in most activity status to swallow and chew cells. And the quantities of swallowed cells will be the biggest when our body takes enough protein and food fibers. If we only eat broth(in which there are lots of easy-absorbed protein) and drink fruit juice( in which there are lots of edible fibers), then we may still feel hungry but this will help to swallow metamorphic necrotic tissue in our body.
5. Only when we are hungry, our liver, pancreas, stomach and intestines will secret digestive fluid and discharge toxin from our body. If whenever we feel hungry we'll eat,and the toxic digestive fluid will retake by our body. We should let ourselves be hungry at day times, so we only let us be hungry at night. Thus the toxic digestive fluid will be absorbed by the food fibers in the intestine and excrete with faeces.
6. Children's growth depends on pituitary secreting growth hormone. Only when children are in deep sleep, produce large quantities of growth hormone. If children eat too much at night, the blood will concentrate on the digestive system while the pituitary will be in the status of blood shortage. So there are no big quantity of growth hormone produced, and children won't growth well.
7. If the students eat too much dinner, the digestive system will continue to work and the brain will continue to dream. Thus they won't get enough sleep.
8. Muscles will maintain good strength in good blood circulation. If we eat too much at night, the blood will concentrate on the digestive system. But our muscles will be in the status of blood shortage. The lactic acid of muscle cannot be metabolized completely and so the muscles cannot recover from fatigue.
20/365 : Dinner Substitute
Since I froze my Metrolifestyle account later of May because of a busy schedule, I started having corn flakes cereals as my substitute for dinner. Why? It's because we should have a light meal during dinner. I have read from an article that light meal for dinner is good because at night, when we're in our sleep, all the organs should rest including stomach and intestines.
Most of us eat cereals for breakfast but this time, I made it a reverse. I eat heavy meal for breakfast since breakfast is the most important meal of the day, my food for lunch depends on what I wanted to eat enough to eliminate hunger and I take cereal for dinner. Of course my rice is limited to only a cup if I wanted to eat rice.
This is my idea and I am to figure out if I could lose few pounds before I go back to the gym. I hope so. If it doesn't work, I'd still go on with the cereal thing because I feel comfortable to sleep with a light stomach... hehehehe...
I will be giving you infos in my next entry why we should eat less for dinner.
Good Morning, Sunshine!
Though I slept late this very early in the morning, thank God because He still gave me the energy to wake up and prepare for work. I have to leave early again not to be caught by the traffic. To let you know, almost all of the intersections in my city have traffic lights no matter how small the street is. You better check this out along C.Bangoy St. which has 3 intersections of not so far in distance. It's a sign of progress. :)
Yes, I have a good morning today! I remembered I was singing in the bathroom hehehe... Yah, and everything's going well so far despite the less than 5-hour sleep. Hmmm.. I hope all goes well today. Got 6 more to do in my list of 14 to do's. Yeah, nearly done.
Have to go guys, I have to prepare myself for the project meeting.
May you all have a very good day! May God bless you all.
Sleep, Where are You?
I don't know what's going on. Sleep is nowhere to find. I'm still alive and doesn't even have the desire to sleep. Am I a monster? Whew, I hope not ehehehehe...
Just a few hours ago, I've had my first online Photoshop Class. Hahaha.. A friend asked me to teach him the basics of Photoshop. Since I'm an experienced Photoshop user, I gave my best to help. I hope he learned something. It's so hard to teach photo editing online. I tried my best though. We're not yet done. Next session will be when he'll catch me online again hehehe...
I've finished my milk an hour ago. I thought it'll help me. But man, I'm still awake! I hope I could have flexible time at work. Dugh... How I wish then I'm at the province - no internet at home, no night life, and there's no other choice but to sleep early.
What I'm doing now? Well, here blogging and browsing my flickr photostream . In a few minutes, I will be having my 2nd attempt to sleep. I hope it works this time. Bye people. Good Morning!

Restless Week
Last Monday, I was at Rondez the whole day for the fire training which involves physical activities. Good thing that my leave from duty on Tuesday was approved. I was really that tired because despite the cough I had the other week, I still went to that training. Of course, I no longer had energy last Tuesday. So, I took a leave in the afternoon. Wednesday was a busy day at the office, too! In Thursday, I had my daily routine at work and went back to Rondez for some discussions with the budgeters. Then on Friday, I was at Rondez the whole day for the Union's Orientation. I went to work in Saturday and Saturdays at work aren't good - less customers, less officemates - totally boring!
And today, I was also out for a work-related thingy. I had to be there because I was chosen to host for that activity. Yeah, right, it's a whole day activity.
That's what happened to me this week and it was really a restless week. I'll try to close my eyes now. I hope sleep visits me soon.
Cheers!

I Failed to Save Life Today
I have never donated a blood before because it scares me a lot to see blood flowing or even when someone takes a blood sample from a patient.
Just around 9:00AM today, I've decided to challenge myself to make a difference - that is to save life by donating a blood. I filled-up the form, offered my ring finger for blood typing. When my form was evaluated, I was disappointed because I did not qualify as blood donor. My period ended only yesterday. And that is the reason why I failed to donate blood today, which means I failed to save life - I failed in this challenge.
Despite the failure, I'm still thankful that I took the challenge because I have discovered and known that I have a type B blood flowing in my veins.
Cheers!

Remembered
1) Last month, I was remembered by someone I knew back 2006. I did not really expect her to visit me in my workplace. I used to invite her for a coffee when she visits Davao but the chances weren't that kind really. So I just waited for that chance but last month, she just came to my workplace and gave me a visit and I was shocked. Hahahaha... Yeah, 'twas great to know I was remembered that time...
2) Just tonight when I woke up from a whole afternoon sleep(because I'm not feeling well), an ex-officemate from an ex-employer messaged me and invited me for a coffee. I wanted to see her too, just to know how she is, but I can't. My headache's still attacking me. So, I told her when I'm free I will just message her.
I always feel honored to be remembered. I do remember good friends as well as the bad ones. I'm just trying to really keep in touch with them. And sad to say, as much as I want to, I don't have their YM id, or FS id, or even their numbers..... :(
11/365 : Old Sneakers
I was at a fire prevention training yesterday and my seat mate took this picture using her camera phone. nyah... she's a bit bored. :) this was taken before the crawling thing.... that's my very old light sneakers!
I decided to wear them when I was told that we'll all get wet during the actual training. And because that's my only shoes that weighs less, so I chose to wear them. :)
