A group of graduates, well established in their careers, were
talking
at a reunion and decided to go visit their old
university professor, now
retired.During their visit, the conversation turned to complaints about stress in
their work and lives. Offering his guests hot chocolate, the professor
went into the kitchen and returned with a large pot of hot
chocolate and
an assortment of cups - porcelain, glass,
crystal, some plain looking, some
expensive, some exquisite -
telling them to help themselves to the hot
chocolate.
When they all had a cup of hot chocolate in hand, the
professor said: 'Notice that all the nice looking, expensive
cups were
taken, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.
While it is normal for you
to want only the best for
yourselves, that is the source of your problems
and stress. The cup that you're drinking from adds nothing to the quality
of the
hot chocolate. In most cases it is just more expensive
and in some cases
even hides what we drink. What all of you
really wanted was hot chocolate,
not the cup; but you
consciously went for the best cups...And then you began eyeing each other's cups.
Now consider this: Life
is the hot chocolate; your job, money
and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain life. The cup you have
does
not define, nor change the quality of life you have.
Sometimes, by
concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy
the hot chocolate God has
provided us. God
makes the hot chocolate, man chooses the cups. The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They
just make
the best of everything that they
have.
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly...
And
enjoy your hot chocolate.Inspiring, isn't it? Now reflect on this and do something.....

Looking Forward to a Very Great Week
Lately, I have experienced eye pain. Maybe because I have stopped wearing my contact lens or my glasses. That added the stress I've had last week. I easily get tired and I have observed I'm already in bed at 11PM. Now, am wearing them back but not all the time. Life started to run smoothly as of yesterday morning. I woke up late at around 11AM. Yeah, of course because I slept late last Saturday. I had a YM conference with my flickr groupies and it lasted at almost 2AM of Sunday.
My Sunday was great! I was a bit pressured trying to finish my online task given by cubrix.com but the pressure was tolerable.
I woke up this early morning. Yehey, earlier than my alarm! Of course, I arrived at my office desk as early as 7:15AM.
I'm having a great day! I have already thought about a great week. 2 days work, then holiday break(Eid'l Fitr), then 2 days back to work and then 2-day break from work! Yuhooo....
My 'Kada Opisina' is planning to go somewhere in Tawan-Tawan this Holiday Break. I'm so excited because I always heart to go to places away from the busy city if I could. The plan's first stop is at my ka-opisina's farm and the next stop will be at the Philippine Eagle. Hmmm... been looking forward to be back to that spot. My last visit was 10 years ago, I might say. Hopefully, I could see changes there.
I'm looking forward to a very great week!
Dah.... can't wait! So, excited!
I'll blog about it, don't cha worry!

Creative Exchange 2009
And so, I was there, the night of September 27,2008. The show was a success of this young organizer despite the rain(well, rains are considered blessings ;)). I had fun with my friend. We left so soon because my friend had an urgent call.

To see more pictures during the event, you may visit Dabawenya's Photoblog. Thanks!
Thanks to Ms. Leah Valle.

Busy...Busy.. Busy
I've become more busy the past days. This time, it's not because of the tasks given to me by the company I worked for but it's about getting out of my shell. I am doing a self-study. I study post processing or doing the HDRI (High Dynamic Range Image).
I happened to bump into someone's site and I've seen his HDRs. I love his works. If you're curious enough, you might as well visit his site. Let me introduce to you, KrisKros.
I have posted some of my selected photos in my photoblog and I hope I could post some post processed photos someday. Here's my photoblog DABWENYA'S PHOTOBLOG.

9/11, A Noted Day to Americans
Here's and excerpt from wikipsedia:
"On that morning, terrorists affiliated with al-Qaeda hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners.[1][2] The hijackers intentionally crashed two of the airliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, killing everyone on board and many others working in the building, causing both buildings to collapse within two hours, destroying at least two nearby buildings and damaging others. The hijackers crashed a third airliner into the Pentagon. The fourth plane crashed into a field near Shanksville in rural Somerset County, Pennsylvania, after passengers and members of the flight crew on the fourth aircraft attempted to retake control of their plane, which was heading for Washington, D.C.
There are no known survivors from any of the flights.
Excluding the 19 hijackers, 2,974 people died in the attacks. Another 24 are missing and presumed dead. The overwhelming majority of casualties were civilians, including nationals of over 90 different countries. In addition, the death of at least one person from lung disease was ruled by a medical examiner to be a result of exposure to dust from the World Trade Center's collapse, as rescue and recovery workers were exposed to airborne contaminants following the buildings' collapse."
It is also a noted day for me and my relatives because my cousin, who's working in a restaurant in one of the buildings of the Twin Towers was nearly a victim.
At the time of the attack, he was still in NJ, having a shower to prepare himself for work. He was then very lucky that time. If he left earlier, he could have been one of those who're trapped inside the building.
Thanks to God for protecting him from that attack.
May God let the souls of the 9/11 attack victims stay with Him in heaven.

I Missed Kobi

So we went there. I enjoyed in watching the competition and same time, I took some pictures. You might want to see some of the pictures, please visit Dabawenya's Flickr.
While I was taking pictures, I saw Primo. He reminds me a lot of Kobi, my Japanese Spitz - Poodle breed dog who died last year. He looks like Primo. The only difference is that Kobi's a black-haired doggie.
I missed Kobi. I missed how he welcomes me when I'm already near the gate from work. He wags his tail and jumps as if he's very happy to see me. I hope he's now in the arms of the Father.
Kobi, I missed you.
