Whom to Blame

This is a story stocked in my mailbox since yesterday. I've read it already but couldn't find time to post so, I am posting this now to share with you. This is a beautiful story that describes the 1st Habit of Stephen Covey's The 7th Habit of Highly Effective People. By the way, the first habit is BE PROACTIVE. I hope the 1st habit will be clear after you read the story.

Boy was born to a couple after eleven years of marriage.
They were a Loving couple and the boy was the gem of their eyes.
When the boy was around two years old, one morning the husband saw a medicine bottle Open. He was late for office so he asked his wife to cap the bottle and keep It in the cupboard. His wife, preoccupied in the kitchen totally forgot the matter.
The boy saw the bottle and playfully went to the bottle fascinated by Its colour and
drank it all.
It happened to be a poisonous medicine Meant for adults in small dosages. When the child collapsed the mother Hurried him to the hospital, where he died. The mother was stunned. She Was terrified how to face her husband.
When the distraught father came to the hospital and saw the dead child ,

He looked at his wife and uttered just five words.

QUESTIONS:

1. What were the five words?
2. What is the implication of this story?

ANSWER :

The husband just said "I am with you Darling"

The husband's totally unexpected reaction is a proactive Behaviour.
The Child is dead. He can never be brought back to life.
There is no point In finding fault with the mother. Besides, if only he had taken time to Keep the bottle away, this would not have happened.
No one is to be blamed. She had also lost her only child. What she Needed at that moment was consolation and sympathy from the husband. That is what he gave her.

If everyone can look at life with this kind of perspective, there would Be much fewer problems in the world. "A journey of a thousand miles Begins with a single step." Take off all your envies, jealousies, Unforgiveness, selfishness, and fears. And you will find things are Actually not as difficult as you think.

MORAL OF THE STORY
Sometimes we spend time in asking who is responsible or whom to blame,
Whether in a relationship, in a job or with the people we know. By this Way we
miss out some warmth
in human relationship.

That was the story. I hope I have shared something that could help you to be better as a person.

Hot Chocolate

Here's another inspirational story that got into my company email last week. I have just read this a few minutes ago since I have attended to several tasks the past days. Now am just waiting for the right time to leave for my meeting at the power plant. I will be leaving in a few minutes. While waiting, I opened the mail and got this new inspiration. So, here's the insiprational story:

A group of graduates, well established in their careers, were
talking
at a reunion and decided to go visit their old
university professor, now
retired.

During their visit, the conversation turned to complaints about stress in
their work and lives. Offering his guests hot chocolate, the professor
went into the kitchen and returned with a large pot of hot
chocolate and
an assortment of cups - porcelain, glass,
crystal, some plain looking, some
expensive, some exquisite -
telling them to help themselves to the hot
chocolate.
When they all had a cup of hot chocolate in hand, the
professor said: 'Notice that all the nice looking, expensive
cups were
taken, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.
While it is normal for you
to want only the best for
yourselves, that is the source of your problems
and stress.

The cup that you're drinking from adds nothing to the quality
of the
hot chocolate. In most cases it is just more expensive
and in some cases
even hides what we drink. What all of you
really wanted was hot chocolate,
not the cup; but you
consciously went for the best cups...

And then you began eyeing each other's cups.
Now consider this: Life
is the hot chocolate; your job, money
and position in society are the cups.

They are just tools to hold and contain life. The cup you have
does
not define, nor change the quality of life you have.
Sometimes, by
concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy
the hot chocolate God has
provided us. God
makes the hot chocolate, man chooses the cups.

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They
just make
the best of everything that they
have.

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly...
And
enjoy your hot chocolate.

Inspiring, isn't it? Now reflect on this and do something.....
